New methods of participatory planning of transport infrastructure.

Basing on the unique experience of partners an the leader of the project, the aim is to prepare, test and implement new solutions for more effective participatory consultation. The result of the project will be tested in pilot implementation of the methodology and tools (including IT tools), which improve planning of the transport infrastructure by ensuring effective participation of citizens and civil society organizations in decisionmaking processes.

New tools take into account factors that have so far eluded the grasp of infrastructure owners, such as spatial range of interests and longterm consequences of decisions. It reduces the adverse impact of individual and group characteristics that hinder the participatory process (psychological and cultural factors to which can e.g. enable an individual to achieve an unjustified dominant position). In the process we use innovative geovisualization and spatial planning solutions to stimulate informed debate.
